CPS Summer School 2025

Overview

The CPS Summer School 2025 successfully took place in Alghero, Sardinia, bringing together students, researchers, and industry professionals from across Europe and beyond. The event focused on cyber-physical systems (CPS) complex, intelligent, and adaptive systems that integrate computation, networking, and physical processes.

Throughout the week, participants explored the latest research and practical approaches to CPS design, development, and application. The sessions covered all design phases of CPSs from concept to final system implementation with special attention to adaptivity, modeling, security, and human-centered design.

About the Event

Cyber-physical systems (CPSs) are increasingly at the core of modern innovation, combining sensors, actuators, and computational intelligence to interact dynamically with the physical world. The 2025 edition of the CPS Summer School provided participants with hands-on experience and insights into current challenges, including system adaptivity, uncertainty in operational environments, and human–machine interaction.

A key focus of the event was on viewing the Human Factor not as a limitation, but as an opportunity emphasizing the design of CPSs that enhance human capabilities rather than replace them.

Topics Covered

Market trends for CPS
Hardware/software and multi-view modeling
Adaptivity and self-healing systems
Low-power design for heterogeneous systems

Looking Back

The CPS Summer School 2025 fostered collaboration, innovation, and cross-disciplinary learning among its participants. It provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange between academia and industry, while set a solid foundation for future CPS research and development.
