INSIDE contributions

INSIDE Industry Association offers two flexible types of financial contributions to support its work: Fixed Contribution and Variable Contribution. The Fixed Contribution is a yearly membership fee based on the size and type of the organisation, while the Variable Contribution depends on a member’s involvement in funded projects, such as those under the KDT/Chips Joint Undertaking.

Fixed Contribution

All Members and Associates are required to pay an annual fixed contribution, unless otherwise specified. Fixed
Contribution’, which amount shall be determined by the GeneraI Assembly and may be revised over time. However, the
extraordinary members shall not pay such Fixed Contribution. Membership contributions are invoiced annually, based on the calendar year. Membership is automatically renewed each year unless it is formally terminated in accordance with Article 6.3 of the Articles of Association.

* Umbrella and branch organisations: organisations that do not perform internal R&I activities may join as Associates  members.

Variable Contribution for CHIPS-JU Projects

INSIDE, as one of the private members in the CHIPS Joint Undertaking (CHIPS-JU), contributes to a portion of the operational costs related to the support of KDT and CHIPS projects. This is financed through a Variable Contribution, invoiced to INSIDE members who participate in these projects. 

This contribution is:

  • Calculated based on the total potential funding allocated to the member’s project participation, including both EU and national funding components (i.e., the “maximum possible funding”). For more details regarding the calculation click here.
  • The Variable Contribution is applicable only to members who are project participants. 
  • Invoiced in three instalments spread over time to align with project timelines and funding flows.
  • The first instalment is issued one year after the official project start date. For example, for a project beginning in January 2025, the first invoice will be sent in 2026.
  • The exact amount may be adjusted depending on the number of industry associations (INSIDE, AENEAS, and EPoSS) the participating organisation is affiliated with. This ensures a fair distribution of contribution when members are part of multiple associations involved in the same ecosystem.
Calculation Formula:
Variable Contribution = (1/3 x Total Funding x Variable Contribution %) / Number of Memberships
